  • Who can purchase travel assistance & insurance?

    Any Indian passenger travelling outside India can purchase International travel assistance & insurance.

    Foreign passengers holding passports of any other country other than India can purchase International Travel protection plan only if they have FRRO, PIO or OCI Card traveling from India.

  • How do I purchase International travel assistance & insurance?

    You can visit www.covermore.co.in, compare plans, obtain a quote and purchase International travel assistance & insurance from the website.

  • Is there an age limit to be covered under International travel assistance & insurance?

    Yes, the passenger must be below 70 years of age as on date of travel.

  • Can I purchase International travel assistance & insurance if I'm traveling for more than 180 days?

    No, International travel assistance & insurance covers the passenger/s for maximum period of 180 days from the date of inception of policy which is the commencement date of journey. In case of a round trip the coverage will end with the return journey to the originating station or 180 days whichever is earlier.

  • Who would be the beneficiary under this travel assistance & insurance?

    Benefits will be paid to the insured person's nominee or bona fide legal heir in the event of loss of life under the accidental death and dismemberment benefit. All other benefits will be payable to the insured person.

    International travel assistance & insurance is non-cancelable.

  • Is International travel assistance & insurance refundable?

    International travel assistance & insurance fees are non-refundable.

  • Once I purchase the policy can I change the date of my travel?

    International travel assistance & insurance can be endorsed or modified before travel date in consultation with the customer care of Cover-More India.

  • Do I have to carry a copy of my Certificate of Insurance with me when travelling?

    We encourage you to carry the copy of your Certificate of Insurance. Please however ensure that you have at least your Certificate Number and the 24-hour assistance service number.

  • What do I do if I did not receive or lost my Certificate of Insurance?

    Your International travel assistance & insurance was successfully processed if it is reflected on the Confirmation Page.

    To get a copy, simply call at our call center: 67166363 or

    Email at – [email protected] along with your Certificate Number (if available), Full Name, Flight Booking Number, Travel Dates, Date of Purchase.

    The travel assistance & insurance certificate will be emailed to the email address provided by you.

    You can avail the following travel assistance services:

    1. Medical & Travel Assistance: 24x7 emergency assistance during travel including telephonic medical assistance
    2. Lifestyle assistance: Pre-trip information, weather forecast, roadside assistance, dining referral and entertainment information, etc., during the stay
    3. Family protection: 24x7 medical assistance, domestic roadside assistance including vehicle breakdown services and concierge services such as dining reservation assistance, home movers, etc., for family back home.
    4. Travel Insurance: Comprehensive Insurance benefits underwritten by an IRDA approved Insurer

  • Does International travel assistance & insurance cover sports and other similar activities?

    No, travel assistance & insurance does not cover sports and similar activities. For more details, please refer to the terms and conditions.

  • Can I cancel my trip for any reason and get all my money back through my Trip Cancellation Benefit?

    The Trip Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for reasons covered in the Insurance terms and conditions. Covered reasons include, but are not limited to, unforeseen emergencies such as illness, injury or death involving you, and/or an immediate family member. Pre-existing Conditions are not covered.

  • Does travel assistance & insurance cover pre-existing conditions?

    No travel assistance & insurance does not cover any pre-existing conditions or complications arising there from.

  • What does my baggage loss benefit cover?

    The baggage loss benefit is available only if entire baggage has been lost while in custody of the common carrier. For details, please read the terms & conditions.

  • How do I file a claim?

  • How long is the claim processing time?

    Claims will be processed within 15 days working days after you've submitted all required documentation.

  • What do I do if I have any questions on claims settlement?

  • What is a Reimbursement Claim?

    Reimbursement of claim takes place when, the customer incurs the treatment expenditure from his or her own pocket and then claims the payment as documented under the Plan. The documents must be submitted within one month of conclusion of treatment.

  • If I lodge a claim after the expiry of my policy date for an event that occurred during the plan period, will it still be valid?

    Yes, it will be considered valid. However, it is highly recommended to immediately intimate the claim / incident to the TPA and Cover-More India.

  • What is the time limit for submitting a claim?

    All claims must be submitted to underwriter within 30 days from the expiry of the policy.

  • What is the alternative process if the supporting documents for the claim are not readily available at hand?

    The claim process can be put on hold till the supporting documents are in order to be processed but the claim will be closed once it exceeds the time limit (1 month) for submission of documents.

  • Do I need to wait till I return home from my overseas trip to file a claim?

    Yes, if you may want to if your return is scheduled in the immediate future. If the customer intends to stay for a longer period of time outside India then he can file the claim with the local assistance company of the insurer and can know the decision on the claim there or send an intimation to the TPA and Cover-More India.

  • What do you mean by trip cancellation on an international plan?

    Cancellation before the commencement of trip due to: Unfortunate death of the customer or serious injury or sudden illness, requiring hospitalization for more than 24 hrs. In such cases a certificate from the hospital issued by the doctor stating that customer is advised not to travel due to medical reasons has to be provided.

  • What does medical coverage indemnify?

    It covers both hospitalisation and outpatient department (OPD) treatment expenses, subject to the terms and conditions and after you pay 100USD as a deductible for each medical incident. It should be noted that no hospitalisation coverage is available for pre-existing medical conditions except for life threatening situations.

    You will be reimbursed for accidental medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered accident as detailed in the terms and conditions.

  • If I meet with an accident during the trip for how long will the medical treatment be available?

    If you meet with an accident during the trip travel assistance & insurance provides for medical expenses necessarily incurred for treatment up to its validity i.e end date appearing on travel assistance & insurance or return to originating city whichever is earlier.

  • Does Domestic Travel Assistance & Insurance cover sports and other similar activities?

    No, Domestic Travel Assistance & Insurance does not cover sports and similar activities. For more details, please refer to the terms and conditions.
